The project is part of Redes Ibo, a program for the improvement of disadvantaged local communities in rural areas .  In this case, the purpose is the renovation of a deeply damaged primary school, used by 150 students.

Munacombo community has been involved in all the project phases, supporting the work of local skilled carpenters from the Kissongosawi association. Once again, we’ve applied learning by doing approach as an effective and inclusive method to pursue the full objective.

After the reinforcement of foundations and walls, a new roof was built, along with the improvement of the basin and pipes system, to collect and gather rainwater. Local materials and improved local technologies have been mainly used for the renovation (e.g. mangal and coconut wood, coral stone, and lime).
