Migrazioni per ERSILIA is an artistic project which depicts our work  ERSILIAlab with Roma people in Milan’s southeast fringes. It’s composed by a series of photos and a video on marginal dwelling conditions of a Roma-Romanian community. The work inquires the current reality, marking all the reflections and changes generated by participating in ERSILIAlab.

Directed by Elena Mocchetti, with the collaboration of Simone Pera, the video documentary starts from the daily life of three Roma families who live in a temporary reception center. The aim is to start from personal experiences to explore some of the main issues which have determined Roma’s marginal positioning in European society.

We think that this work provides suggestions on human nature, on diversity, on identity and identities. We hope it would be an occasion to grasp all the similarities which make us all citizens of the same world.
