The Lampi Marine National Park is the only protected area of the Myeik Archipelago and the only marine park in Myanmar. The project implemented in collaboration between Oikos Institute and ASF Italia is part of the STAR Project and promotes the conservation and sustainable management of natural resources, as well as the diversification of the local economy.

The project aims to improve the park's infrastructure and at the same time promote the diversification of livelihoods. Completed in March 2021, the project consists of three buildings dedicated to the accommodation of the park staff (rangers) and promotes the strengthening of their participation in activities related to the park and its integration with the functions of the Visitor Center of the park.

The technologies used have been developed in different meetings between the ASF staff and the local construction team – from the village of Makyone Galet, on the same island of the project - and reflect the techniques already in use locally but seeking integration with more sustainable and resilient techniques to overcome the extreme natural events. The envelope and structure are semi-prefabricated and modular, constructed in joinery and bamboo; foundations as plinths realized with the use of tires as formwork.
