The project is the extension of a first block of five classrooms (built in 2014). The new building has completed the general plan of the school by adding two more classrooms and two labs. In addition to this, we have built a dormitory to host professor, kids and volunteers.

The now fully equipped school aims to improve the curricula of the students, as well as to expand its impact to the villages around the area by periodically hosting workshops to increase skills and job opportunities.

During the construction of the 2nd building, we have primarily focused on creating a comfortable habitat for classes and labs, using natural bioclimatic solutions. During the design phase, we worked mainly on two specific aspects: the section of the building, to ensure natural ventilation, and the correct positioning of the new block, to favour natural shadowing and airflow. Given the little time we had to complete the structure, we decided to use a traditional concrete structure, while focusing on the use of natural elements, such as bamboo and natural fibers, for windows and finishings.
